Early morning apartment fire may have been caused by lightning
Sat. Jul 24th 2010

Investigators say it is too soon to tell, but it is possible that an early morning fire on Saturday may have been caused by lightning.

They say the fire in the 2400 block of Western Avenue started on the outside of a building holding four apartments and worked its way inside.

When crews arrived just after 6:30am, there were reports that a person was trapped, but that ended up not being the case.

Everyone had gotten out safely with no reports of any injuries.

Crews say they had the fire under control in about 20 minutes, and the damage is primarily contained to the outside rear porch.
